About Us

Our Commitment

To connect families with farmers, one kitchen at a time. To provide the best grass-fed beef possible to feed our family and yours. To produce real food that has the power to heal and allows people the ability to reconnect to the land. We want to be YOUR farmers.

Our Mission

To provide the best tasting, most nutritious, safest grass-fed beef to as many families as possible. We want to give our customers a direct link to their farmer and give them the opportunity to learn and see how their food is being produced. We work to give back to the community and help those less fortunate in multiple ways.

Our Practices

  • On the farm we focus more on quality over quantity. Some things you are only able to get from small family farms.
  • We practice regenerative agriculture where we use a holistic approach to farming
  • Maintaining a living root in our soil year-round
  • Minimize soil disturbance which reduces runoff water pollution to maintain our healthy river
  • Our pastures grow a diverse group of grass and clover which help to feed the soil life.
  • We do not use any synthetic fertilizer, herbicides, or pesticides which allows us to produce a safer protein
  • We move our animals daily which eliminates overgrazing and allows for even nutrient distribution
  • Our animals are raised without the use of any antibiotics or growth hormones
  • We use a local family-owned state inspected butcher to process our beef where every steak is hand cut and packaged by a professional butcher
  • Every box shipped is packed by YOUR farmers to ensure your product will be packed correctly to ensure it remains frozen for shipping
  • We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if for whatever reason you are left unsatisfied contact us and we will arrange a refund

The Farms History

The Mangin’s have farmed the same land for going on 6 generations so you could say it’s in their blood. Josh’s parents had a conventional dairy farm but transitioned to an organic cash cropping operation while he was in high school. The change made Josh start thinking differently about agriculture. The ground had been constantly turned yearly in preparation of next year's crop which was usually a grain crop that was grown for animal feed. The soil was bare most of the year and erosion was evident. In 2014 Josh and Alyssa purchased the first cows and transitioned a small piece of land to pasture. We had hopes of improving the land and providing friends and neighbors with some high quality grass-fed beef.

Our Current Farm

We (Josh and Alyssa) now own and operate the farm and have transitioned about 100 acres of former cropland to pasture. We found demand for our locally produced grass-fed beef and wanted to reach more customers, so we decided to go all in. We graze our cattle from birth and they never receive any grains, antibiotics, or growth hormones. The cattle spend their days eating green grass, roaming the pastures, and laying in the sunshine. Our animals are 100% grass-fed and grass finished on our farm. Our land consists of different grasses and clovers which are mutually beneficial. With our practices we can build soil life, add nutrients, and increase organic matter. We love raising animals the way nature intended and being faithful stewards of the land. We enjoy seeing the land improve every year and are focused on leaving it in better condition than we found it for future generations. We have seen how beef raised in this way has healing power and is the healthiest choice for our family as well as yours.

The Mangin’s at Mangin Meadows

Josh and Alyssa along with kids Henry (5) and Lucy (3) run the farm on their own and do the work themselves daily to produce the best beef possible. Josh was born and raised on a farm and puts his past experience to work daily. You can find Josh walking fields moving cattle, doing the daily chores, as well as answering emails and talking with customers. Alyssa works off the farm but helps with chores seasonally as the work becomes busier. You can find Alyssa driving tractor pulling wagons, helping work and move cows, as well as answering emails and posting updates on social media. Henry loves going to the farm and helping anyway he can. You can often find Henry riding along on the gator moving cows in the summer and riding tractor or skid steer doing chores in the winter. Lucy is our pure animal lover. You can find Lucy cuddling all the barn cats that she can catch or chasing the calves around the pasture trying to “pet” them.

P.S.    When you choose to purchase locally produced, ethically raised, grass-fed and grass-finished beef you are asking to see more of it. This is ever inspiring because you can bring change and see more regenerative agriculture simply by asking for it with your hard-earned dollars. Your voice is why we farm. We produce the food you want to feed your family. Get to know your farmer today because it is the only way you will know what is truly in your food.
